From the Land of Lakes to the Heart of Healing: Liz Marj

Liz Marj's journey is not just about becoming a nurse—it's about surviving loss, embracing struggle, and finding grace in responsibility. Liz was born in Pisz, a scenic town nestled among the thousand lakes of Poland.

Her early life was marked by deep sorrow—her father, a security officer, passed away at just 33 years old. While other children played, Liz took charge of the home—cleaning, cooking, helping with schoolwork—becoming a second mother before she was even a teenager.

Academically, Liz shone brightly. She graduated valedictorian and was elected class president. Just when college seemed impossible, her cousin Helen sponsored a visa for Liz to come to the United States in 1985.

She landed in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and later worked in a machine shop. Life in America was overwhelming. She didn't speak English. For two years, she cried herself to sleep every night. But she refused to give up.

Everything changed at a birthday party, where she met a fellow Pole from her very own school back home. In 1986, they were married. Liz pursued her dream of nursing and graduated in 2005. Now a senior nurse, Liz leads with fairness.
